The dream writing app. Perfect way to view pages and stacks of work. Just the right amount of settings, as well.

Dont use this app. Sync is broken and you will lose your writing. Wait until they release Ulysses for iPhone.
I have bought this app many years ago, and are now just writing a review. This app has not changed much at all since I first found it; however, with each iOS update, new bugs were introduced. Some documents gets lost, thats not a huge deal, as I backup everything daily. On the other hand, on iOS 8.4, the app sometimes unexplainably lags when trying to focus on a note to type. The animation is impeccably fast, but bringing up software keyboard sometimes takes 4-5 seconds; this is clearly another iOS compatibility bug, which I hope they fix soon and if they do Id probably bump my rating back to 4. The app is really a great concept for organizing text-based documents. For example, when I fill out job applications, Id put an application as a stack, and each individual question as a sheet. Moving between questions is fluid and as Steve Jobs would put it, simply magical.
The iOS 7 update is very nice, improves what was already a very modern design. Always glad to see the continuing support for an app I use regularly. Earlier review below. From the makers of Ulysses, my favorite OS X writing app, comes a really good vision for writing on the iPad. With a simple, clean and pleasurable document switching interface, a no-distractions writing screen, and Dropbox sync, Daedalus Touch has pretty much everything I need on iOS. My default writing app while on the go.
To all the knuckleheads out there giving this a one star review, please take note that the program has basically become Ulysses for iPad which is way cooler than Daedalus ever was, so check it out instead.
Ok now that it is impossible to do anything like sinc... Comon guys fix it so I can fall in love all over. Or finish porting Ulysses to the IPhone as well. I love the IPad version. But dang it, I got my phone on my far more often now.
So somebody is dissing the bad reviews because Daedalus is supposedly outdated by Ulysses. OK, fine. But when core features like syncing through iCloud arent working for me here, Im supposed to spend $20 on the hopes that another program by this developer will work? I dont think so.
Ive been using this on my iPhone since I hardly ever use my iPad where Ulysses for iPad rules for my writing. It syncs with the files on the cloud.
Love storing my notes in this I love the way it looks and how fast I can scroll through the stacks.
A clear example of an app that attempts to be fancy while forgetting actually being useful, and even failing at that! Not worth your time nor your money.
At first, I didnt think I liked this app very much and that Id be better off to sync with an external folder instead within Ulysses, to take my writing to iPhone. Well, I was wrong. Once I figured out a few things about how the app works and customized my toolbar etc, I find it to be a delight. I cant wait for Ulysses for iPhone, but until then, this is a great solution.
While I still love this app, the feature that I adored the most — the ability to move between characters simply by tapping in the margins — is gone now. What was a seamless writing app is now just a little worse off. Seriously disappointed by this.
Daedelus is still the best! If you need a plain text editor with a unique UI. Search is superior and not relying on spotlight Another key is iCloud and WebDav syncing support and for this it beats the more expensive Ulysses
